ABOUT Mackenzie
Hello, my name is Mackenzie! I am a USC costume design student from Los Angeles, California.
My journey began a few years ago when my love for clothing, film, theatre, fashion history, and Old Hollywood allowed me to discover the craft of costume design. As I discovered my passion during Covid, opportunities were scarce until the pandemic slowed and I worked on Grease at my local high school.

Currently I am earning the last two years of my BA in Theatre with an emphasis in Design at the USC School of Dramatic Arts. USC has allowed me an abundance of opportunities such as designing theatre productions, MFA films, and working in the costume shop. Alongside my education, I am working at Universal Studios, Hollywood as a Costume Dresser.
Previously I attended The Pennsylvania State University as I earned the first two years (2022 - 2024) of my BFA in Theatre, Design & Technology there. Attending this university has allowed me to have a variety of experience in positions; such as a stitcher, wardrobe crew member, assistant designer, and wardrobe supervisor in our various Centre Stage Productions.

In addition to my collegiate experience, I have expanded my costume experience outside all the way to across the pond in England! I spent Summer 2023 with The Tudor Tailor as I assisted with the shop orders, helped to create and make an Elizabethan ensemble, and many other various costume tasks. It was such an incredible and priceless experience where I learned much more about 16th century fashion, garment construction, fabrics, and so much more.

As I continue my educational experience, I continue to take everything I can out of my curriculum, show experiences, and internships so that I may set out into the creative entertainment industry with as much preparation, versatility, and knowledge as I can possibly obtain.
